IMANI wins for the sixth time this year. “Special Jury Mention” Prize at the Durban International Film Festival 2010. IMANI was the only film from Africa outside S.A to be nominated as a competition film and has now been awarded.

IMANI won BEST FEATURE FILM SILVER DHOW at the Zanzibar International Film Festival 2010.

IMANI won two awards of the 7th edition of Tarifa African Film Festival.

“Best Full Length Feature Film Director” for Director Caroline Kamya and her film IMANI. For its freshness and subtlety, which manifests the capacity of the new generation of African filmmakers to express their vision of the world.

“Best Actress in Full Length Feature” for lead actress Rehema Nanfuka. For her gentle and congenial interpretation of a woman trapped in a difficult life situation.

We are pleased to announce that IMANI will Premiere at Cineplex, Garden City on MAY the 6th 2010.
This is the “hometown” premiere of IMANI. Welcome Home
IMANI will be screening to the public at Cineplex Garden City on a regular basis from the 7th of MAY onwards for three weeks. The first time a local film has been sponsored by Cineplex and screened alongside other “Hollywood” films.

I truly enjoyed watching “Imani” at the Berlinale. It’s a brilliant movie on all levels beautifully shot, well written, with great performances by the actors and a superb soundtrack!!! I don’t remember when last I have see a film by Africans, about Africans which rings so true in the balance of honesty, dignity and authenticity.

Thank you for a wonderful film experience. I hope to see more of your work in the future and that your film will also be an inspiration for more great Film-makers to emerge from the African continent.
