IMANI REVIEW FROM BERLINALE 2010

HERE IS JUST ONE OF MANY THE REVIEWS FROM BERLINALE 2010 – THANK YOU AND DO KEEP THEM COMING

I truly enjoyed watching “Imani” at the Berlinale. It’s a brilliant movie on all levels beautifully shot, well written, with great performances by the actors and a superb soundtrack!!! I don’t remember when last I have see a film by Africans, about Africans which rings so true in the balance of honesty, dignity and authenticity.

Thank you for a wonderful film experience. I hope to see more of your work in the future and that your film will also be an inspiration for more great Film-makers to emerge from the African continent.

DAY 3 – IMANI REVIEW

The second public screening of IMANI held at Cubix was another success. The German version of IMANI went down a storm. Once again a long applause. This time the whole IMANI team represented were called to the stage by Dorothee Wenner for the Q&A. Among the lovely feedback  from the audience a highlight was that the young Steven Ocen was complimented on his great acting skills. There were three Ugandans living in Berlin who attended and they were also very happy to see such a positive portrayal of their country on the big screen. “IMANI fever” is catching on.

Day 2 : IMANI Review Berlinale – First Public Screening a Roaring Success

Last night at 10pm  the World Premiere of IMANI at Cinemaxx kicked off the IMANI “train”. Sold out  well before the screening the large theater was filled to the brim with people also sitting on the stairs.  Forum Director Christoph proudly introduced Director Caroline Kamya before the film began and once over the audience could not stop applauding. What a wonderful start. The Q&A that followed was with actor Steven Ocen and Caroline Kamya. The audience asked some pointed questions and gave very positive feedback.  Report from the second screening tomorrow.
